It was exactly what my mother, my sister and I wanted a full reflection on my mother’s life as well as an emotional and beautifully delivered service that helped us to grieve and pay tribute to my mother. When I met with Maria to discuss plans for the funeral she listened to my lengthy ramblings about my mother; unconnected stories , poignant memories and lists of her strengths and weaknesses plus my vague and in some cases, very precise, desires for the funeral. From this she somehow carefully put together a moving and well balanced ceremony which fitted exactly into the time allowed and perfectly reflected the life and essence of my mother.
It touched the memories and emotions of those present in the most positive way possible. It felt entirely appropriate for my mother, me, my family and friends. The ceremony itself was really well delivered helping friends and family to really engage with the core of Val and her passing.
Your care, time and skill in putting the ceremony together were really appreciated alongside your patience and kindness in checking with me at all stages in the process that I was happy with the plans. My changing and last minute requests were incorporated calmly and competently.
So many of those who attended commented on what an exceptional and lovely funeral they had participated in. Staff who attended from the Nursing Home my mother was in during the last few months of her life commented that it “was the best funeral they had ever been to!”
As I wrote earlier, the memory of the funeral will always stay with me and has really helped me in dealing with the grieving process.
