Baby Naming and ‘Christening’ Ceremony - Where can it be held?
A Baby Naming or 'Christening' Ceremony can be held in the venue or location of your choice and there are lots of different options. There are no legal requirements so you are not restricted to a licensed venue and you can even hold the ceremony at home or in your garden.
If you plan to have a small gathering or party afterwards where food will be provided then somewhere that offers catering or allows you to bring your own food is a good idea.
Here are some suggestions
- At home or in your garden.
- A small restaurant, cafe or bistro (often gyms and sports centres have a good sized cafe attached).
- A local park or beauty spot (permission may be required).
- A marquee.
- A community or church hall.
- A hotel or country house.
- EUREKA Chidren's Museum.
We are currently updating our recommended venues and will be soon adding these details to our website. In the meantime if you would like some help choosing a venue or location to hold your Baby Naming or 'Christening' Ceremony please contact us and we'll be only too happy to help.

We work in partnership with the National Children's Museum EUREKA! Where you can hold your Naming Ceremony celebrations then explore the museum afterwards! If you would like us to email a pdf brochure of our naming ceremonies at EUREKA! please contact us.
